- Distribution and habitat:
- N Madagascar from Masoala Peninsula to Maroejejy. It lives along forest streams
- Habits:
- Diurnal and terresttrial species
- Remarks :
- The colouration is very beautiful as in most of mantellas. The back is black and green,
while the belly is black with blue spot. This is an aposematic and defensive colouration.
Nonetheless in nature this mantella is almost invisible and only its sharp call is heard.
- Reproduction and larval development:
- Unknown. Possibly like in other mantellas, with eggs laid under stones and corks, on the
ground.
- Status:
- Common. As other mantellas it is captured for the pet trade.
