Sitatunga Tragelaphus spekei |
- Distribution:
- Zambia, Botswana and Angola.
- Habitat:
- Marshes, water -meadows, rain forests and the hunid areas of the savanna.
- Size:
- Male. 70 to 120 kg.
Female: 40 to 100 kg.
Shoulder Heigth: Both Male and Female 40 to 105 kg.
The Male's horns can reach 90 cm. Only Male owns horns.
- Behaviour:
- During the day it hides itself in deep vegetation. Early in the morning or in the evening it leaves its shelter to feed. It lives lonesome inside its territory. Its particurally developped hoofs allows it to run over the muddy ground or to swim easily.
Its enemies are: phytons, crocodiles, leopards. During the dry season, when the water of the water -meadows withdraw itself, even the lion became one of its worst enemies.

- Herbivorous. It feeds with water plants, grass and leaves.
