- Distribution:
- Southern Africa and the areas which goes from north Tanzania to south Kenya to Mozanbique.
- Habitat:
- It prefers dry and semidesertic areas with rocky grounds and some bushes.
- Size:
- Both Male and Female from 10 to 16 kg.
Shoulder height Both Male and Female from 45 to 60 cm.
Male's horns lenght: 5 to 20 cm.
- Behaviour:
- Diurnal: Sometimes it is possible to see it during the night of full moon. Sedentary it lives in thin groups that can reach from 1 to 10 specimen for square mile.
Its enemiese are: big predatories, all carnivorous monitors and baboons included.
- Food:
- Herbivorous. It feeds with the leaves of the bushes and with grass, it does not need to drink every day.
- Reproduction:
- A single offspring after 5 months of gestation.
- Longevity:
From 6 to 15 years.
