  Presently known for the massifs of Ankaratra (from which the name) and Andringitra, both in central-eastern Madagascar. It inhabits high altitude rainforests

  Described by Andreone in 1992

• Status:

  Localized. Endangered at Ankaratra (Manjakatompo Rainforests), for the fragmentation of the original environments
